REPORT OF QUIZ CONTEST 2015

C.N. Kothari Homoeopathic medical college and research center, Vyara and Homoeopathic medical association, Vyara unit jointly organized 3^rd quiz contest on the auspicious occasion of GURUPURNIMA on July 31, 2015. Programme started with garlanding and lamp lightening to almighty goddess Ma Sarashwatiji, and Dr. Hahnemann. Dr. Jyoti Rao, Principal, felicitated the senior most teacher of college Dr. P.R. Patel sir with the highest honor on behalf of teaching staff of college. Dr. P.R. Patel sir explained the importance of the Guru in our life.

Dr. Swapnil Pardeshi anchored the whole event nicely. Dr. Mahavir Ghiya served as scorer in the quiz contest. All teaching staff members done very hard work in preparation of Question bank. Total 9 groups of students have participated. All groups are formed of five students from of 1^st BHMS to 4^th BHMS and internship. Quiz conduced in 5 rounds including rapid fire round, buzzer round, visual ppt round, chit round, MCQ round etc. Audience also took active participation in quiz contest. Audience was also asked many questions in between the rounds. Every correct answer from audience was awarded with a ball pen by the college. Following names are given to groups of students.

1.       Hahnemann group – father of homoeopathy

2.       Hippocrates – father of medicine

3.       Sushruta – father of surgery

4.       Louis Pasteur – father of microbiology

5.       Malpighi – father of histology

6.       John  snow – father of epidemiology

7.       Liebig – father of biochemistry

8.       Stephans hales – father of physiology

9.       Rudolph Virchow – father of pathology

Dr. Ghanshym Raval sir and Dr. Ajay Desai sir were remained present in quiz contest to encourage and motivate the contestants. Dr. Jyoti Rao and Dr. Ajay Desai sir honored Dr. Ghanshyam Raval sir for being un-opposely elected as a syndicate member of VNSGU, Surat on behalf of college and Aruna-Anil Vyara Pradesh vikas pratishthan.

1^st , 2^nd and 3^rd position prizes given by college as under.

1^st position – Hahnemann group – Rs. 5000/-

2^nd position – Hippocrates group – Rs. 3750/-

3^rd position – Sushruta group – Rs. 2500/-

Two consolatory prizes awarded to John snow group and Liebig group by President and secretary of H.M.A.I, Vyara unit. All the contestants were awarded with certificate of participation by college and HMAI, Vyara unit. Dr. Swapnil Pardeshi, Dr. Bhavna Patel and Dr. Bhavin Modi acted as quiz master in contest. The event concluded successfully under guidance of Dr. Jyoti Rao, Principal.
