Water Purification Plant Visit—A report

On 13/04/26, As part of the 4th-year BHMS curriculum, the Community Medicine department of C. N. Kothari Homoeopathic Medical College and Research Center, Vyara, arranged an educational visit to the Water Purification Plant in Vyara. The primary objective was to provide students with practical insights into large-scale water treatment processes, ensuring the delivery of safe and potable water to the community to prevent water-borne diseases.

Objectives of the Visit

• To understand the technical stages involved in the purification of surface water.

• To study the physical, chemical, and biological standards of drinking water.

• To observe the practical application of disinfection methods, specifically chlorination.

• To correlate theoretical knowledge of environmental health with real-world public health infrastructure.
